  • Before you lose access to your university OneDrive account, move your files to a personal OneDrive account using Mover. Visit the following page to find detailed instructions on how to use Mover.

  • There is no way to merge the two storage place in OneDrive. However, you can access the BYU OneDrive storage space in your personal Office 365 account and vice versa. This does not merge the accounts, but does allow you to access information from both storage areas.

    1. Open up Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
    2. Click File
    3. Click Account.
    4. Then click Add a service > Storage > OneDrive.
    5. A new window will open asking for the Microsoft Account credentials. You will need to enter your personal Microsoft account information.
    6. After doing this, the storage space should show up in the list of Connected Services. Now you can save documents to/open from this location.

This allows OneDrive files to remain with the team when a user leaves the team. Users who wish to create a shared should follow the directions below:

    1. Go to office.byu.edu
    2. Navigate to the OneDrive page
    3. Click Create shared library
    4. Add a library name and the members of the library
      1. If you wish, you can edit Advanced settings to make changes to the site address, email address, privacy, and language of the shared library.
    5. Click Create

Take your hard work with you when you graduate!

Upon graduation, you will no longer have access to your university OneDrive account. We recommend that you migrate all your files currently saved in OneDrive to a personal storage location so you can access them later on. The "Mover" app makes it easy!
